Whetstone Creek Golf Course is proud to be flagship affiliates of the First Tee—South Dakota. Open to any interested junior, you do not have to be a member of any golf course to participate! First Tee enables kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with life skills curriculum, we create learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids carry to everything they do.

2024 Programming Dates – Fridays

Dates: June 7, 14, 21, 28, July 12, 19, 26, August 2

Ages 7-8
Time: 9:00-10:00 a.m.

Ages 9-11
Time: 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Ages 12-14
Time: 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Prices:
Ages 7+: $36

Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance is available, please contact Cody at [email protected]. No young person will be turned away from the First Tee programs because of an inability to pay.

Equipment

Equipment (golf clubs) are available to borrow, there is a check-in/check-out golf club area located by putting green, but you may bring your own golf clubs. If you bring your own golf clubs from home please individually label EACH golf club with name and phone number, so if lost we will be able to get the club back to you.

Participants will receive t-shirts, name tags, and other goodies on their first day of programming.

First Tee—South Dakota improves the lives of young people be providing educational programs and learning environments that promote character development and positive values through the game of golf.  First Tee Life Skills experience enables participants to learn valuable lessons about the importance of maintaining a positive attitude; how to make decisions by thinking about the possible consequences and how to define and set goals from the golf course to everyday life.  Participants learn about themselves and others through a range of experiences enhancing their golf skills as well as their fundamental values for life.
