Coaches Corner featuring Chantel Brende

Chantel Brende was raised in a golfing family. It was a natural fit for her to sign up and attend First Tee programming. She started in 2008 in the PLAYer Level and worked hard to get all the way through to the ACE level. During this time, she started volunteering and helping coaches with the younger participants. In the summer of 2015, with the encouragement of her Coaches, Chantel applied and was accepted to attend the Auntie Annie Leaders and Entrepreneurs Forum in Orlando, Florida.  "First Tee has given me an opportunity of a lifetime. Not only did I make lifelong friends through First Tee, I learned some valuable Life Skills. For instance, I am constantly using STAR and the 4 R’s in my everyday life whether I know it or not. I am very grateful to be a part of the First Tee program,” Chantel tells us.   She credits this opportunity as the reason she started training to become a First Tee Coach! Chantel enjoys competition. In 2016, she was the Class B State Champion for Baltic High School.  She is now a senior at Mount Marty University in Yankton, South Dakota studying Business Management and minoring in Art. She is a proud leader and member of the Lancer’s Women’s Golf team. With her background in golf and her desire to compete, Chantel is a great addition to the First Tee—South Dakota team. She has evolved from a participant, to now coach, and leader.
